Polly was a lover of his God, his family, his business, his friends, and his politics. No one knew for sure who or what he loved the most because he was so involved in each. Polly became President of Parrott Oil Corporation after starting with his father as a truck driver. Polly sold Parrott Oil in 1993 to Valvoline Oil and joined his son Randy as Vice President at Ranparr, Inc. Polly was President of the then Texas Oil Marketers Association in 1971. Along with family and friends, Polly was able to travel the world and step foot on 5 of the 7 continents. But many believe that his true passion was politics. He personally knew 3 Presidents, 3 Vice Presidents, numerous Senators, Congressmen, Governors, and Representatives. He was also able to meet many other world leaders. Polly was on the board of the National Center for Policy Analysis and was board chairman of The Council for National Policy. He traveled to Washington D.C. quite frequently in the 1980's to discuss political policy.
Polly was also an avid collector of western art and enjoyed his second home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He even had at one time established and maintained a herd of Santa Gertrudis cattle. He eventually donated the entire herd to East Texas State University (now Texas A&M Commerce). He loved Texas Longhorn football, Dallas Maverick basketball, and most importantly, and all baseball including the Texas Rangers. Polly did love his daily vodka with his normal toast, "Here's looking up your address".
Polly will be joined in Heaven by many of his friends and family. And he will be missed but not forgotten by those of us who remain. Until we meet again.
